Just came back after watching this movie, reluctantly under pressure by mum to book tickets yesterday. 2 cents' worth to share upon watching the 150 min long movie.
Maybe it's just me, or just the boys (or those who have been through the mono-intake), or maybe due to the incorrect segmentation of storyline, somehow the hype of the whole movie doesn't seem to flow through our veins with excitement and relation as effectively as the 1st sequel. Take the NDU background out, and it is just a very normal storyline. nothing special whatsoever. It is the insertion of this army portion that makes ladies, foreigners get curious to want to enter the movie to see how life is under the effect of NS.
All I can say is, this "money tree" of ideas is being squeezed dry. Let's hope this is the last episode of "ah-boys-to-men" sequel. This is not Harry potter. I believe that any more upcoming episodes derived from the SAF or SPF or SCDF will not bring the hype any higher; it has moved way past its peak. I certainly do not wish for any more "ah boy to engineer, ah boy to guards, ah boy to airborne" or whatever coming up, that will either get SAF's reputation stained with profit-making opportunities, or jeopardize the security of classified information belonging to the SAF.
Needed to compliment on the acting though; on Wong Weiliang (acting as per usual Lobang) and Tosh (now promoted to 3WO Alex Ong). Apparently their acting skills are here to stay, and probably cos their lingo is somehow more appealing to my taste and preference I think that's the reason why I like them in the movies more. Maxi Lim (Aloysius Jin) and Joshua Tan (Ken Chow) are maybe too stuck on their lines and trying too hard to bring out the scenario that they missed the emotions part. This resulted in the disconnect between their role and the scenario.
Of course, needless to say. The PPL. Last warning.
That does sum up my 2 cents' worth for this movie... Thanks for the movies though. It's been hard producing such movies.
I did not forsee that this day will come.
Yes.
Guess what. I am down with an official mid-20 crisis.
Not sure if it is a disease or what. maybe some already had it and not known to me; I am going through this episode at this time. Way behind all my peers. Where the job market is badbadbad.
Anyways, to spell it out, Unemployed. For a moment I even forgot how to spell/type it out. And never did I realise that I have to stamp this word on my current Job status..
And so. I am now rotting. for the past week. "desperately" searching for jobs. On one hand parents and pressure within myself is pushing me to just settle for a job already; on the other hand friends are asking me to slow down, take a deep breath, look around and see where you should head towards.
I am always shooting this phrase "more haste less speed" at myself. Happened umpteen times. I hope this is not going to be a repeat of the effects of my own misjudgement.
Right now. While my friends, schoolmates are feeling productive about their long hours at work, I am just waiting for news that seem to take forever to come. Wait. Just wait. Is this all I can do?
