it was the first time i went for a retreat. a company retreat. think at least half the company probably felt that way too. there's only that few that were in the corporate world long enough to have experienced many company retreats.
i tot it was going to be a relax session. hmm.. to a certain extent, yes, considering that our day ends after dinner. and we had alot of breaks in between (but not for the retreat committee). lots of bonding sessions, lots of activities, and lots of walking around, shopping and drinking.
everyone seemed to have something they wanted to buy. ranging from clothes to bags to souvenirs to food. i chose food, lugging back 6 bottles of redbull and 2 packet jellies. kind of regretted not buying more but then with the luggage constraint i wont want to add on too much load to my teammate's check in luggage.
we had a lot of chatting. digging out lots of gossips from one another. understanding each other better. seeing more transparently, their character "behind the scenes".
loved the 2nd day the most: the island hopping. it was such a soothing experience that one can really feel the serenity of the island. clear waters, no rubbish, fresh sea breezes, naturally clean rocks.... no slippers allowed okay! so all of us hopped up the island on bare feet. everyone was snapping away at one another, posing for the best shots to upload onto their fb/insta/twitter/snapchat/etc..
it was also a day for all of us to let our hair down as well. chatted along the way walking on the waters. played mini games. kind of love that feeling though. cos to me that was like a chance to make friends with your colleagues.
sad to be already back in sg signifying the end of the know-each-other-on-a-personal-level session. back to politics and stuff. i hope there is no 公报私仇 involved there.
